Before servicing the tablet

Before you service this tablet, do the following:
• Disabling the built-in battery
To disable the built-in battery, do the following:
1. Remove the ac power adapter and all the external devices.
2. Restart the tablet. Immediately press and hold the volume-up button until the ThinkPad Tablet
Setup program starts.
3. Tap Config ➙ Power to display the Power menu items.
4. Tap Enter next to the Disable Built-in Battery item.
5. A confirmation message is displayed. Tap Yes to disable the built-in battery and to turn off the tablet.
Wait three to five minutes to let the tablet cool.
• Removing the micro SIM card and the micro-SIM-card tray
If the tablet you are servicing has a micro Subscriber Identity Module card (micro SIM card) installed,
remove the micro SIM card.
• Removing the USB 3.0 connector cover
