Overview The AT-EX1001SC/GM1 Gigabit Ethernet Multimode Extender (Figure 1) allows you to extend the maximum distance of standard multimode fiber cable for 1000Base-SX Gigabit Ethernet beyond the distance limitations imposed by the current IEEE 802.3z standard. Dust contamination can adversely impact the operation of the ports. Remove the dust cover from Port 1 (P1) on the AT-EX1001SC/GM1 Multimode Extender. Connect the appropriate fiber optic cable to Port 1 (P1) on the Gigabit Ethernet multimode extender. -

If after connecting one of the units to the host device the PLL Lock and SC LEDs of Port 2 fail to light up, do the following: Make sure that both the host device and the AT-EX1001SC/GM1 Multimode Extender are powered up and functioning properly. -
