    CONNECTIONS Follow these steps to connect the home theater system. It is recommended that you turn off power on all components (or unplug AC power) while you are connecting the system. PLACING THE SPEAKERS For best results, arrange the six speakers in your listening area as shown: Front Speakers (L, R) Set the front speakers so they are aligned at ear level and at a horizontal angle of 45 degrees to the primary listening area.

    CONNECTING SPEAKERS 1. Make sure the power is turned off to prevent possible damage to the system. 2. Connect each pair of speaker wires to the color-coded connectors on the back of each speaker, and to the matching connectors on the back panel of the system (Center = blue, Front = red, Surround = gray, Subwoofer = black).

    S-VIDEO OUT Connect an S-Video cable from the panel of the system to the S-Video input on your television. Set your television to view its S-Video input. Connecting the TV to Component Video (DVD only) Use this connection for superior picture quality when watching DVD movies.

    SETUP RUNNING AUTO SETUP Connect the power cord to a standard 120VAC/60Hz electrical outlet, but DO NOT PRESS THE POWER BUTTON AT THIS TIME. Let the Auto Setup run first. The Auto Setup feature automatically searches for channels and sets the clock when a cable from an antenna or cable TV outlet is connected to the IN (FROM ANT.) jack on the back panel and the power plug is connected to an AC outlet.

Whenever you start recording, the VCR automatically marks the tape with an index signal. This signal is like a bookmark on your VHS tape that helps you easily find the start of any recording.
