Introduction
The Tropos 1410 is designed to operate from DC power sources. If DC power is not available,
Tropos offers power solutions for the Tropos 1410 for photocell and non-photocell applications
and a battery backup unit that provides backup power. Three products are available, as
described in this chapter.
These power accessories are not approved for hazardous environments. If used with a Tropos
1410-HAZ, the power accessories must be installed outside of the hazardous area and approved
wiring must be used.
TLP4820 - Photocell PoE Injector
The TLP4820 in used for applications where the Tropos 1410 is mounted on a street light and
AC power is obtained from the photocell socket of the streetlight. The TLP4820 delivers up to
20W at 48VDC. The TLP4820 is plugged into the photocell socket of the streetlight and the
photocell is installed on top of the TLP4820. If backup power is required, a BB063001 can be
used with the TLP4820.
PS079001 - Outdoor PoE Injector, non-photocell
The PS079001 is used for all non-streetlight applications. AC power is provided to the
PS079001 using a PT031006 (6 feet) or PT031030 (30 feet) Tropos power cable (ordered
separately).
