Closing a file

This section describes the process of closing an open file. Direct mode will be activated, enabling
quick measurements on different base materials without much effort.
Procedure:
1. Press Arrow Down key repeatedly until "Data memory" appears on the display
2. Press OK key; "New file" appears on the display
3. Press Arrow Down key twice; "Close file" appears on the display
4. Press OK key; "File closed" appears on the display for a short time, followed by the start
screen with the four dashes – – – –
After closing the file, "Direct mode" appears on the display.

Changing a file name

This section describes how to rename an open, active file. To rename a closed file, you have to
open it first (see menu item "Opening a file").
Procedure:
1. Press Arrow Down key repeatedly until "Data memory" appears on the display
2. Press OK key; "New file" appears on the display
3. Press Arrow Down key three times; "Rename file" appears on the display
4. Press OK key; the letter-numeral structure along with the actual file name, e. g. "D001",
followed by a black cursor █.
5. Press ESC key for a short time to delete one character (pressing and holding this key will
abort the file name entry); and/or
6. use the arrow keys to select one character out of the letter-numeral-structure; all letters and
numerals (A-Z, a-z, 0-9) as well as the space character (the white cursor █) are available.
Continued pressing of these keys lets the characters run through the display.
7. Press OK key for a short time; the selected character is entered and the black cursor █
appears again; repeat steps 6. and 7. until the file name is complete, e. g. ABC123. Then
8. press OK key when the black cursor █ is visible. The new file name, e. g. "D002", and
"Rename file?" appears on the display. If "Name already exists" appears on the display,
choose another name for the file.
9. Press Ok key; "File renamed" appears on the display for a short time, followed by the start
screen with the four dashes – – – –
The new file name is shown at the bottom line of the display to indicate the file mode.

Deleting files

The two sections below describe the processes of deleting one selected file or all stored files.
Deleting a selected file
This section describes the process of deleting a specially selected file. The file name, the readings
and the settings of the selected file are deleted.
Procedure:
1. Press Arrow Down key several times until "Data memory" appears on the display
2. Press OK key; "New file" appears on the display
3. Press Arrow Down key four times; "Delete file" appears on the display
4. Press OK key; "Delete one file" appears on the display
