3. Lay the rail against the wall (or ceiling) mount and rest the motor assembly on something tall such as a ladder which is enough to support the rail so it does not touch the garage door spring. Some garage doors require this height to attach the rail to the header bracket.

For One-Piece Doors: Mark a centerline on the top of the garage door as you marked for the header bracket (see Fig. B). Position and center the door bracket onto the top of the garage door, mark and drill (2) 5/16” holes for the left and right side of the door bracket (see below).
