WARNING
PROPANE FUEL CANISTERS MUST BE DISCONNECTED
FROM THE GRILL AND PROPERLY STORED IN A COCKPIT
STORAGE COMPARTMENT THAT IS ABOVE THE COCKPIT
SOLE. THE COMPARTMENT MUST BE DRY WITH NO
ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS OR SWITCHES ON OR IN THE
COMPARTMENT THAT COULD CAUSE A SPARK. NEVER
STORE PROPANE FUEL CANISTERS IN THE CABIN, HEAD
COMPARTMENT, ENGINE COMPARTMENT, BILGE OR A
COMPARTMENT BELOW THE COCKPIT SOLE.

11.4 315SY Cockpit Features

Engine Access
Access to the engines is provided by a day hatch,
located in the center of the cockpit and by rais-
ing the cockpit deck and stern sun pad above the
engine room. The cockpit deck and sunpad are
hinged at the rear and raised by an electric hatch
lifter activated by the Hatch switch in the helm
switch panel. The deck section is designed to raise
high enough to provide adequate access to ser-
vice the components in the engine compartment.
Always make sure the cockpit deck is completely
closed and the day hatch is closed and properly
latched before operating the boat.
The transom door must be secured by the mag-
netic latch in the open position before the engine
hatch is lifted. There is an interlock switch built
into the transom door that activates the circuit for
engine hatch actuator and allows the engine hatch
to be lifted when the transom door is in the open
position. The interlock system is necessary to
prevent the transom door, cockpit and U-Lounge
from being damaged by lifting the engine hatch
with the transom door closed.
Cockpit U-Lounge Seat
The aft U-Lounge seat provides passenger seating in
rear of the cockpit and the rear portion converts to
a sun island. The sun island is mounted to the en-
gine hatch and raises with the hatch when it opens.
There is a removable cooler below the starboard
lounge cushion that drains to the cockpit and drink
holders located forward of the lounge.
