INSPECTION DETAILS - C. LEFT FRONT
AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATER
Warm up the engine and check for smooth operation of
each control:
Press the "MENU" button. Select "Climate" and push

conditioning control. Confirm that "3-zone" button* is OFF.
a ) Select high fan speed and set the temperature to 85 °F
(29.5 °C) with the "TEMP" button.
b ) Press the windshield defogger button and check that hot
air flows out of the front defroster vents.
c ) Select "FOOT" air flow mode and check that hot air
flows out of the foot vents.
d ) Check that the air flow volume changes when the fan
speed button is pressed.
e ) Press the "AUTO" button followed by the "3-ZONE"
button* (indicator on) and lower the temperature of the
driver's side by pressing the "TEMP" button.
f ) Set the temperature of the driver's side to 65 °F
(18.5 °C).
g ) Check that the display of the airflow mode and the air
flow volume changes automatically by changing the
temperature in auto mode.
h ) Check that the temperature of the passenger side
remains at 85 °F (29.5 °C).
i ) Select "FACE" air flow mode.
j ) Check that cool air flows out of the driver's side center
vent and hot air flows out of the passenger's side center
vent.
k ) Press the "3-ZONE" button* (indicator off) and check
that cool air flows out of both center vents. Set the
temperature to 72 °F (22.2 C).
l ) If not equipped with rear controls, check that cool air
flows out of the side vents and the rear console box
vents. If equipped with rear controls, "AUTO" mode
must be ON.
m ) Check outside temperature display
n ) Press and hold the "OFF" button.
o ) Turn on the rear window defogger switch and check that
the indicator light illuminates.
p ) Press the "AUTO" button.
q ) Press the windshield wiper de-icer button* and check for
proper operation.
