    Philips HD receiver User Guide CHAPTER NTRODUCTION 1.1. I NTRODUCTION Your HD receiver is capable of receive three types of signals : analog terrestrial (NTSC format - National Television Systems Committee), digital terrestrial (ATSC format - Advanced Television Systems Committee), and analog cable (NTSC format), and it supports two types of display formats : ATSC and NTSC format.

    Philips HD receiver User Guide 2.5. J ACKS AND ABLES RF Jacks and Coaxial F-typed Cables The RF jacks and coaxial cables are necessary for reception of terrestrial (digital and analog) and cable signals. The RF jacks on the HD receiver are labeled ANT IN and CABLE.
  • Page 18 Philips HD receiver User Guide VGA Out Jack and VGA Cable A VGA cable connects the HD receiver to RGB-compatible monitor via VGA Out jack. S/PDIF Jack and Toslink Cable The Toslink cable and S/PDIF OUT jack are used for connecting a Dolby Digital receiver. If you own a Dolby Digital receiver that uses a Toslink cable-type input, connect the HD receiver to that receiver using a Toslink cable.

You can get general information on the programs and, where available, can get detailed information such as actors, story, category and so on.

The Guide Banner shows information on the program selected under the cursor.   • Page 71 Philips HD receiver User Guide 9.3. F IRMWARE OWNLOAD When HD receiver boots up, the boot loader in the Flash ROM waits for user’s key input for firmware update. By sending any message to HD receiver through RS-232 port within five seconds after boot-up, you can activate the firmware update procedure.

Press any key within five seconds if you want to download a new firmware. Step 4 If you press any key, instruction message will be displayed as shown in figure below.
