Getting Started

Installation
• Unpack the appliance and remove foam packaging. Keep all packaging
materials until you have made sure your new appliance is undamaged and in
good working order. Plastic wrapping can be a suffocation hazard for babies
and young children, so ensure all packaging materials are out of their reach
and dispose of them safely.
• Clean the interior with a damp cloth, dry thoroughly.
• Your appliance has the capability of the door opening from the right or left side.
If your setup requires door swing reversal, see instructions on pages 18-22.
• This appliance is designed to be freestanding only and should not be
recessed or built-in.
• Before connecting the unit to the power source, let it stand upright for one
to two hours to allow the refrigerant gases to settle into the compressor.
This will reduce the possibility of a malfunction in the cooling system from
handling during transportation.
• Make sure to read all safety advice on pages 5-8 before installation.
• Place the refrigerator in a well ventilated, dry area, on a sturdy, level floor
that is strong enough to support it when it is fully loaded. Do not place it on
soft material such as foam or plastic.
• If necessary, adjust the levelling feet at the bottom of the appliance to level
it (turn the feet clockwise to lower the height, anticlockwise to extend).
• Leave a 30cm clearance above the appliance, and at least 2cm between
the back and the wall and at the sides, to allow for proper air circulation
to cool the compressor and condenser, and to ensure the appliance is not
touching a surrounding surface.
• Locate the unit away from direct sunlight, sources of heat (stove, heater,
radiator, etc.), moisture and extreme cold ambient temperatures.
• Plug the refrigerator into an exclusive, properly earthed wall outlet and
adjust the temperature controls in the freezer and fresh food compartments
to the maximum position.
• After about 30 minutes, open the freezer compartment door and check
whether the unit is working properly: you should feel cold air. Close the
door again.
• To guarantee best cooling performance, allow the unit to cool down
for at least 2–3 hours before placing food in the refrigerator or freezer
compartments. After a period of time the thermostat will switch off and on
automatically and maintain the compartments at the set temperature.
