4.11. Take down the sample fixing tool from the hotplate,
4.12. Switch off the hotplate,
4.13. Wait until the wax solidifies (20~30min). It solidifies at 40°C. If you have changed the polishing plate, you
may condition it now in order to save time,
4.14. While waiting, adjust the PP6 load
4.14.1. Put the glass plate on the load gauge (cf. Fig. 7),
4.14.2. Switch on and calibrate to zero the load gauge,
4.14.3. Put the PP6 jig on the glass plate and connect the vacuum hose to the jig,
4.14.4. Rotate the load adjuster behind the dial gauge in order to adjust the load. The load is displayed on the
load gauge (Fig. 9). Actually it does not change much when rotating. The value is usually about 3200.
4.15. Take of the sample from the fixing tool: hold up the rod, and remove the teflon bloc and the wiper,
4.16. Check the thickness of the sample (for instance with dektak),
4.17. Fix the vacuum hose to the jig holder (don't connect yet to the PM5 main body),
4.18. Turn over the jig and put it on the jig holder (Fig. 8),
4.19. Put a mark on the ceramic with a marker pen, and put the ceramic on the jig with the mark pointing in the
direction of the vacuum connection hole. This mark is used to set back the ceramic plate in the same position if
you have to take it away temporary,
4.20. Center the ceramic and start the vacuum chuck by connecting the hose with the PP5 main body,
4.21. Check that the sample is well fixed (if not, check that the trap valve is closed),

5. Changing polishing cloth (only if necessary)
It may be necessary to change the polishing cloth when you need a very clean polishing, or if it has been used
