4. Sample fixing and load adjustment

4.1. Set the hotplate temperature to 80°C,
4.2. Put the sample fixing tool on the hotplate. From now on, be careful not to burn your hands,
4.3. Clean the ceramic plate with wipers and ethanol. Don't apply ethanol when the plate is hot or it may break,
4.4. Wait until the ceramic plate warms up to the wax fusion temperature (~55°C) (few minutes until the wax
melts). If you need to change the polishing cloth, you can do it now,
4.5. Clean the ceramic plate with wax:
4.5.1. Apply some wax on the ceramic plate in a centered circle of about 60~70mm diameter,
4.5.2. Wipe off the wax with a wiper,
4.6. Apply again some wax on the ceramic plate, on a surface just a little larger than the sample surface,
4.7. Set the sample on the ceramic plate (on the wax),
4.8. Press the top of the sample with a wiper and make it slide in small circles in order to remove air bubbles and
dust,
4.9. Put a wiper piece over the sample, then put the teflon block, and hold it down with the sample fixing tool rod
