5.2.5.2.1. Enable
Place a ✓in the box to enable PTZ control for the selected channel.
5.2.5.2.2. Manufacturer (Model)
Choose the manufacturer and model of the PTZ dome from the drop-down list.
5.2.5.2.3. Device ID
Enter the ID of the PTZ dome. This ID should match the ID physically set on the dome.
5.2.5.2.4. UART Settings
These are the communications protocols necessary to talk to the PTZ dome. These
protocols are similar to setting up the COM port for a modem.
5.2.5.2.4.1. Default Settings:
There is one default setting of 2400 Baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bit and no parity. If
your dome uses these settings then just click the radio button next to Default
Settings.
5.2.5.2.4.2. User-Defined:
More than likely you will have to customize the UART settings for your PTZ dome
as recommended by the manufacturer in their installation manual. These settings
are:
5.2.5.2.5. Pan Speed
Enter the speed for the dome to go left and right. Range may be different from dome to
dome.*
5.2.5.2.6. Tilt Speed
Enter the speed for the dome to go up and down. Range may be different from dome to
dome.*
5.2.5.2.7. Halt Speed
Enter the delay (dwell) time before the dome reverses direction when auto-panning.
Range may be different from dome to dome.*
*Where supported. If not supported, the legend "(Not Available)" will appear.
5.2.5.2.8. Save
Click the Save button to save the Channel selection and Pan/Tilt/Zoom Device settings.

Baud Rate:
Communications speed. Choose the speed recommended by the
manufacturer from the drop-down list.
Data Bits:
Usually 7 or 8. Choose the correct number from the drop-down list.
Stop Bit:
Choose the correct number from the drop-down list.
Parity:
Even, Odd or None. Choose the correct parity from the drop-down list.
