Qualified Person
For the pu rpose of this manual and on product labels, a qual­
ified person is one who is fam i l iar with the i n stallation , con­
struction and operation of the equipment, and the hazards
i nvolved. In addition , he has the following q ualifications
(a) Is trained and authorized to energize, de-energize, clear,
g round, and tag c i rc u its and equipment i n accordance
with establ ished safety p ractices.
(b) I s trained i n the proper care and use of protective equip­
ment such as rubber g loves, hard hat, safety g l asses or
face shields, flash cloth i n g , etc . , in accordance with es­
tablished safety practices.
Signal Words
Distinctive signal words ( DANG ER, WARN I N G , CAUTI O N ) are
used in this instruction book and on product labels to ind icate
degrees of hazard that may be encountered by the user. These
signal words are defined below.
