  • Page 39 Scroll type compressors only compress in one direction of the rotation. Single phase models are always started up in the proper direction; however, the three phase models, turn in either direction depending on the order of the power supply phases. Therefore, it is essential that the phase connection for scroll-type three-phase compressors be carried out correctly (the correct direction of rotation can be checked when the pressure on the suction side decreases and the pressure on the discharge side increases when the compressor is activated).
