Where should Heat Detectors be fitted?
Heat detectors are suitable for fitting in areas with high levels of fumes or smoke, i.e. the kitchen.
Do not fit in the bathroom or areas subject to steam or condensation.
Ideally the heat detector should be ceiling mounted near the centre of the room, at least 300mm from any light fitting and
300mm away from any wall or corner.
Try and avoid areas out of reach where it will be difficult to press the TEST button.
