    When you switch on the Mac for the first time, you need to enter setup details. Procedure 1. A setup assistant appears when switching on the computer for the first time. Follow the instructions. 2. From Create a Computer Account, you can use marport for full name, account name and password. Disabling Automatic Updates Procedure 1.

    Installing Marport Tools Procedure 1. Double-click Marport Tools installation file to unzip it. 2. From MarportTools folder, copy Marport Tools application and paste it in the Applications folder. Marport Tools is now installed on your computer and accessible via the Launchpad Drag its icon to the Dock for a quicker access.

    Once the computer is configured, you can clone its hard drive and then, install the hard drive image on other Mac mini i5 computers for a M3 system, in order to save time for future installations. Refer to Cloning Disks user guide for more information.

    To know how to install the Ethernet connector to the new cable, refer to the assembly instructions included with the Ethernet connector kit. Configuring Networks This procedure applies only to technicians from Marport offices. Marport technicians need to configure the Ethernet networks so that the receiver and the Mac mini communicate with each other.

Important: The order of the networks is important. If Apple USB Ethernet Adapter is not first in the list, the computer will not connect to the internet.

    We recommend the following wirings to connect a Scanmar hydrophone to a Marport system. Scanmar hydrophones can be used with Marport receivers. They will show a lower current (5.5mA instead of 8-9mA). You need to connect the junction box to the third hydrophone connector (H3) on the receiver.

    We recommend the following wirings to connect Simrad PI hydrophone to a Marport system. On Scala, Simrad PI hydrophone can be added to the receiver as an active Marport hydrophone (NC-1-02/04). It is recommended to put capacitors of 1.5 μF/ 63V on the +12V and -12V cables to reduce noise.

    M3 System | V2 | Installation Installing ShipModul MiniPlex Multiplexer (Optional) You can use a ShipModul MiniPlex multiplexer to receive simultaneously NMEA data from devices such as GPS, compass or warp length sensor module and display them in Scala. Important: ShipModul multiplexer cannot read NMEA messages longer than the standard maximum length (82 characters), nor other format messages longer than 61 characters, nor Marelec messages.

    M3 System | V2 | Installation Other formats If your device outputs messages in other formats than NMEA, for example Rapp Marine or non-standard NMEA messages beginning by @: from Input Mode, select Plain Text. If you do not select Plain Text, messages will not be received by the multiplexer.

If you gave talker IDs to the devices you configured on MPX-Config3, you can see that each device is identified by its talker ID (AA, BB and CC).

Checking Noise Interference You can use the spectrum analyzer to check the noise level of the hydrophones and check if there are no interference.
