OPERATING PRECAUTIONS I When using a D clamp first connect it to the measuring instrument before clamping around the conductor. I Do not use the clamp when the voltage, with respect to earth, of uninsulated busbars or conductors exceeds 600V rms sinusoidal or 848V crest. I Never leave the clamp around a conductor unless it is connected to a measurement instrument. -

8. MAINTENANCE JAW FACES The jaw faces of the clamp must always be kept clean. Take care to clean them and lightly oil them to avoid rust. Do not leave the clamp in very damp places or exposed to running water.
