Messaging

Messaging enables you to send and receive brief messages with your hand-
set.
You may send messages to individual subscribers and to groups. The call
number of a subscriber may vary from his telephone number in certain cases.
The messages are defined texts (fixed texts). The subsequent dialing any dig-
its is permissible, as needed. The list of defined texts can be obtained from
your system administrator.
Verification for the sending party of the message:
The sender receives a confirmation of the sucessful transmission of the mes-
sage, and – after having sent a message including the demand of a manual
acknowledgement – an acknowlegdement of receipt of this message by the re-
ceiving party.
The latest 10 messages are stored in a message list. You may call back the
sender directly from the list.
NOTE
The messaging functions are only available when the message server
has been connected. The message server supplements your private
telephone system.
NOTE
During reception of a message and during a possibly required manual
acknowledgement, an existing call is temporarily interrupted.
Example: User A and user B are holding a telephone conversation.
User A receives a message. From now on, the handset microphone of
user A is switched off as long as the messaging process continues in-
cluding the signalling and acknowledgement time. During this period,
user B cannot hear user A anymore. However, the call is not termi-
nated. The conversation can be continued after signalling and ac-
knowledgement are complete.
