6 Connection buildup

6.1 Hardware and software requirements

If KACO-proLOG is equipped with an internal analog
modem,
an analog modem will be needed for
communication. Similarly, if KACO-proLOG has an
internal ISDN modem the PC must also have an ISDM
modem in order to communicate. A table showing the
possible connections is shown on page 35.
Hardware
Standard PC with modem (analog or ISDN) for KACO-
proLOG with modem, or Ethernet network connection
for KACO-proLOG with Ethernet connection, enabling
email data transfer via the network.
Software
Internet-Browser: starting from Internet Explorer version
5.5 / Netscape 6.1 activated with Java Script.
6.2 Connection to KACO-proLOG with Ethernet (M
and XL)
KACO-proLOG and the PC must be connected to the
same network. IP addresses and the network mask of
KACO-proLOG and, respectively, the PC , must be
stored in the same address memory. If these
requirements
are
met,
addressed at its IP address via an Internet browser
(e.g. Mozilla or Internet Explorer).
The IP address can be set via "Network Connections"
via the system control of your PC.

can

KACO-proLOG must be addressed with
the correct IP address and network mask.
The
192.168.100.50 with a network mask of 255.255.255.0.
This means that KACO-proLOG can be addressed via
a PC having the IP address of 192.168.100.xxx and
network mask of 255.255.255.0. "xxx" stands for any
number between 1 and 254, whereas number 50 is
already pre-assigned to KACO-proLOG.
Example:
IP address of KACO-proLOG: 192.168.100.50
IP address of network card (PC): 192.168.100.55
The settings of the IP address, network mask and
gateway KACO-proLOG can be changed via "Admin –
monitoring" -> network -> settings. The indicated IP
address may vary depending on the selected setting.
This IP address must then be used instead of the
standard address (as shown above) in the browser.
After modifying, saving the settings and
reset,
via the new parameters.
The IP-adress for returning to factory settings is:
192.168.10.90

6.3 Connecting to KACO-proLOG with modem

A new data transfer line (DFÜ) must be set for a PC to
communicate with KACO-proLOG. This setup may vary
depending on the type of operating system - below
please find instructions for Windows 95/98, Windows
2000 and Windows XP.
