8. Turn over the system board, and then remove the coin-cell battery as shown.

9. Install the new coin-cell battery.
10. Reinstall the system board.
11. Reinstall the storage drive board shield and the system board shield. See "Replacing the system board
shield and the storage drive board shield" on page 31.
12. Reinstall the wireless card. See "Replacing the wireless card" on page 30.
13. Reinstall the power button board. See "Replacing the power button board" on page 30.
14. Reinstall the I/O board shield. See "Replacing the I/O board shield" on page 26.
15. Reinstall the computer covers and reconnect cables to your computer. See "Completing the parts
replacement" on page 47.
16. Turn on the computer and all connected devices.
Note: When the computer is turned on for the first time after replacing the coin-cell battery, an error
message might be displayed. This is normal after replacing the coin-cell battery.
17. Use the Setup Utility program to set the date, time, and any passwords. See Chapter 4 "Using the Setup
Utility program" on page 11.

Replacing the microprocessor

Attention: Do not open your computer or attempt any repair before reading and understanding the Chapter
1 "Read this first: Important safety information" on page 1 .
CAUTION:
The heat sinks might be very hot. Before you open the computer covers, turn off the computer and
wait several minutes until the computer is cool.
To replace the microprocessor, do the following:
1. Remove all media from the drives and turn off all connected devices and the computer. Then,
disconnect all power cords from electrical outlets and all cables that are connected to the computer.
2. Remove the computer covers. See "Removing the computer covers" on page 23.
3. Remove the I/O board shield. See "Replacing the I/O board shield" on page 26.
4. Remove the power button board. See "Replacing the power button board" on page 30.
5. Remove the wireless card. See "Replacing the wireless card" on page 30.
