B21. AIR CONDITIONING AND HEATER
Warm up the hybrid system and turn on the
"A/C" button, then check for smooth
operation of each control as follows:
Before checking the air conditioning and
heater, push the "CLIMATE" button to display
switches for automatic air conditioning
control.
a) Press the blower button (Hi) and set the
temperature to "29.5 _C (85 _F)" with
the "TEMP" button.
b) Press the windshield air flow button
and check that hot air flows out of the
front defroster vents.
c) Set the air flow mode in "FOOT" with the
"MODE" button and check that hot air
flows out of the foot vents.

d) Check that the air flow volume changes
when the air intake control button is
pressed.
e) Press the "AUTO" button and the
"DUAL" button (indicator on) in order
and lower the temperature of the
driver's side with the "TEMP" button.
f) Check that the display of the air flow
mode and the air flow volume changes
automatically.
g) Set the temperature of the driver's side
at "18.5 _C (65 _F)".
h) Check that the temperature of the
passenger side remains at "29.5 _C
(85 _F)".

Set the air flow mode in "FACE" with the
"MODE" button.
j)
Check that cool air flows out of the
driver's side center vent and hot air
flows out of the passenger's side
center vent.
k) Press the "DUAL" button (indicator off)
and check that cool air flows out of both
center vents.
l)
Check that cool air flows out of the side
vents and the rear console box vent.
m) Check that the outside temperature
displays.
n) Press the "OFF" button.
o) Turn on the rear window defogger
switch and check that the indicator light
illuminates.
p) Turn on the micro dust and pollen filter
switch and check that the indicator light
illuminates.
