Caution: The wiper blades should never be moved through any part of their
cycle manually. Such movement can seriously damage the gear train in the
motor. The arm and blade may be lifted away from the glass to facilitate
cleaning without causing any damage.
OUTSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR-The outside mirror may be
mounted either on the left or
right
door or, if preferred, on the right
or left front fender.
The mirror is pre-adjusted for installation on the left front door. If
the mirror is to be installed on the left front fender the locking nut
which
secures
the mirror base to the mirror hood holding arm should
be loosened and the hood rotated left or right to the most suitable
location. The lock nut should then be tightened securely before the
mirror assembly is attached to the mounting bracket. This same
procedure
should
be followed when installing the mirror on the right
front fender or door.
Minor angular adjustment of the mirror itself is done by applying
finger pressure on the mirror glass
sufficient
to cause it to move on
the ball-pivot in the back of the mirror.
INSIDE REAR VIEW NON-GLARE TILT
MIRROR-The inside tilt mirror basically
has two adjustments or positions. A finger tab
at the bottom center of the mirror permits easy
adjustment to the night time non-glare driving
position.
The mirror position is indicated by
words NIGHT or DAY in white letters on the
respective tabs. The adjustment from DAY to
NIGHT position is made by pulling the tab towards
you.
By pushing
on the NIGHT tab you
switch
back to DAY position.
The mirror is attached to the
support
arm by means of a clevis (tongue
and groove joint)
whi~
allows the mirror to be raised or lowered. To
adjust
the mirror height for a
short
person, loosen the screw in the
clevis and remove entire mirror
assembly.
Turn the mirror 180
0
so
clevis is inserted
with
a downward angle and tighten the holding
screw.
The mirror should then be rotated
on
its ball pivot 180
0
to place the
DAY-NIGHT tabs at the bottom of the mirror.
An additional adjustment of the mirror, to accommodate taller drivers,
can be made by simply rotating the entire mirror 180
0
The mirror height can be readjusted to a position anywhere within a
range of 272 inches from the extreme high position to extreme low
position.
