To set the push buttons, select a station manually, pull down the door
above the push buttons, and line up one of the red tabs with the indi-
cator in the dial glass. Repeat this process for each of the other four
buttons. In areas where two desired stations have only slight variance
in their broadcasting frequency it may be necessary to offset the tabs
slightly to assure selection of the station wanted, if, when the push
button
·
is depressed the stronger of the two stations is invariably
selected.
Antenna height controls automatic station selection similar to the
sensitivity control. If indicator sweeps the dial repeatedly without
stopping, the antenna should be raised to help strengthen the broad-
casting signal.
Both Pontiac radios carry civil defense CONELRAD markings at 640
and 1240 kilocycles to identify these locations for emergency broadcasts.
HI-FI REAR SEAT SPEAKERS-
Are availaQle for use with either the
Deluxe or Electramatic Wonder-Bar
Radio. This system combines the
conventional front seat speaker with
two separate rear seat speakers, both
of which have excellent sound repro-
duction characteristics. The rear
seat'
speaker switch, located on the instru-
ment plJ..nel below the radio controls,
has four control positions to provide the following:
1. Front speaker
only.
2. Both rear speakers. In this position bass notes are subdued and
high frequency notes are accentuated making it particularly suited
for voice selection.
3. Both rear speakers. Both speakers are in phase for normal response.
4. Front and both rellr speakers for maximum fidelity.
Rotating the dial through the four positions allows you to select to
tone quality you prefer for instrumental music, male or female vocal,
and speech.
ELECTRIC CLOCK-The electric clock in your
car has been carefully checked and regulated by
the maker for good time
keeping.
Obviously,
between the time the clock is built and the time
the car is placed in your hands, many things
have taken place; some of which can conceivably
affect the original precise adjustment. This does
not mean that the quality of the clOCk has been
impaired in any way, but it does mean that we must ask you to check
the adjustment of the clock and make some correction, if necessary,
under the conditions that you would normally operate the car.
