PONTIAC ApPROVED ACCESSORIES
The accessories
and
optional
equipment available for
installation
on
your
new Pontiac are built specifically for Pontiac
to
Pontiac Engineers'
specifications. Some accessories,
or options, require
little
or
no main-
tenance or regulation;
while
others give
you their
best performance
and ultimate pleasure when
you fully
understand the working prin-
ciples behind each one.
8 WAY POWER OPERA TED ADJUST-
ABLE
SEAT -Designed to give
you
greater
driving ease
and
comfort,
the 8
Way Power Seat provides for a horizontal
adjustment up to 5' forward or backward,
a
vertical
adjustment of 2', and a complete
seat angle
adjustment up to
15°.
This
'wide range
of
seat
position
selection
permits any driver, regardless of physical
stature, to
choose
the exact
position
that
"feels"
right.
A
single
control
panel,
located
on
the forward edge of the left hand
side
of the
seat
cushion, contains the three switches which activate the
seat
movement. Raising
or
lowering
of
the front
of
the
seat
is done by lifting
or
pushing down the
front switch.
The
position of
the rear of the
seat
is
raised
and
lowered in the
same
manner using the rear
switch.
Move-
ment of both
switches,
up
or
down, will elevate or lower the
entire
seat
assembly in
a
vertical
plane.
Movement of the center
switch,
forward or back,
c~Jlses
a
horizontal adjustment to be made.
6 WAY MANUAL OPERATED AD-
JUST ABLE SEAT-The movement
of
the Manual Seat is
similar
to the
power
seat. By raising
or
lowering
the front
or
rear handle,
and
at the same time
shifting
the body forward or back, the
seat
may be
positioned in
anyone
of
36
possible posi-
tions (six
on
the
forward
handle
or six
on
the
rear).
Horiwntal movement
of
the
seat
is
accomplished
using the
standard seat regulator
knob. This
gives a
total of
360
positions
considering fore and aft travel.
Adjustments in the
position of
the
6
Way Manual
Seat,
when occupied
by more than the driver, can be easily made
if each
person will
shift
his
weight
in unison
with the
driver.
