Damage by Polarity Reversal or Short-Circuit: Incorrectly
connected wires may cause a polarity reversal or short-
circuit. This will result in severe
equipment. It is essential to disconnect the car battery
before beginning the electrical installation
VoiceCom 1000™ system!
Plug-and-play electrical connection is the preferred way of making the required
electrical wiring of the VoiceCom 1000™ Control Unit. The car specific Wiring
Harness available from ROSEN as an accessory part is specifically designed for
your car, and makes for an error-free and fast electrical connection of the system
components. The installation instructions for each Wiring Harness can be
seen at ROSEN website www.rosenentertainment.com.
In case of unavailability of a vehicle specific Wiring Harness, the Universal
Wiring Harness (available as accessory part) should be used and the
following instructions followed carefully:
Power Connection
Do not cut any wires of the vehicle's factory installed
wiring
manufacturer's warranty!
Cut the blue wire of the Universal Wiring Harness (position 5) approx. 1 ft. (30
cm) from the connector and connect the wires again with a fuse holder. Use the
supplied cable fuse holder, and firmly make the connection using universal
pliers. Insert the supplied 1 Amp fuse. Repeat the procedure with the red wire
(position 2) and insert the supplied 2 Amp fuse.
Within the car's wiring harness to the radio locate the permanent 12 VDC cable
coming from the car's battery. Cut the red wire of the Universal Wiring Harness
to the desired length and use a supplied cable connector to connect it to the
permanent 12 VDC wire. Locate the switched 12 VDC power cable coming from
the ignition switch and repeat the same procedure with the blue wire of the
Universal Wiring Harness. Locate the ground wire of the car's wiring harness
and connect the brown wire of the Universal Wiring Harness (position 1) to it
using a cable connector.
