Selecting the Mounting Positions
If such a console is not available, the Control
Unit should be mounted behind the radio
under the dashboard. Carefully remove the
console panels or dashboard panels and
determine a suitable mounting position.
Be sure that there is at least 2 ¾ inches
(70 mm) free space behind the Control
Unit for the plug-in connectors. Mark screw
positions and drill the four mounting holes
with a 2 mm drill. Using the four supplied
metal screws with washers will fix the
Control Unit in its position.

Mounting the Remote Control

Damage to the Airbag System: A wrong place selected for
the installation of any component of the VoiceCom 1000™
System may cause damage to the airbag system or
impair the operation of the airbag. Install any component
out of range of action of the airbag!
Hold the Remote Control at the spot where you wish to mount it. There is a
self-adhesive strip on the rear of the of the control unit. The shape and form of
the bearing surface must suit this adhesive strip. The cable can be wired and
brought out at the rear of the Remote Control in a variable manner. The
connection cable must be long enough to reach the Control unit. Once you have
decided on where to mount it, pull the protective film off the adhesive strip and
briefly but firmly press the Remote Control onto the mounting location. Do this
carefully because it will not be possible to correct the position later.

any wire of the existing vehicle wiring or the wiring of the
VoiceCom 1000™ system may cause damage to the unit,
damage to the electrical system of the vehicle, and may
cause short-circuiting and fire. All wires should not be
pinched or nicked and should be properly fixed to
avoid any tensile stress or possible damage by chafing!
