For continued product safety and protection of personnel injury,
servicing should be made with qualified personnel.
Risk of electric shock
Assembly power ,
Assembly PFC,
Assembly lamp ballast and
Assembly lamp are
"HOT" .
The signal circuit and control circuit of this projector are insu-
lated (COLD) from AC line by the insulation transformer
inside the projector. But, assembly power, assembly PFC, assem-
bly lamp ballast and assembly lamp are not insulated from AC
line, and those are "HOT."
HOT CIRCUIT IS IDENTIFIED WITH THE LINE (
) IN THE SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM.
An insulation transformer should be connected in the power
line between the projector and the AC line before the service
of hot circuit is performed on the projector.

Laser Beam

Do not attempt to servicing the remote control unit. Laser
beam may be leaked out when in disassemble the unit. As the
laser beam used in this remote control unit is harmful to the
eyes.
NOTE;
Laser radiation
Max output
Wave length ; 650 ± 20nm
Class II laser product

Cooling Fan

Observance : Attachment direction
The cooling fan's attachment direction is the important matter for main-
taining the safety of a product. If the attachment direction is mistaken,
it will become the cause which the inside of the projector is unusually
overheated and a fire or parts damage.
Safety significant parts
Observance :
Designated part
Product safety should be considered when a component
replacement is made in any area of the projector. Components
indicated by mark (
) in the parts list and the schematic
diagram designate components in which safety can be of spe-
cial significance. It is, therefore, particularly recommended
that the replacement of the parts must be made by exactly the
same parts.

Light source lamp

Caution : UV and Strong light
Don't view directly the light emitted from the lamp with which this pro-
jector is equipped. The emitted light is very strong and the ultraviolet
ray is also included. Protect the eyes and the skin from the ultraviolet
ray and strong light in the case of the disassembly repair.
Caution : High voltage
When turning on the lamp, the high voltage (20Kv~25Kv) is impressed
to electrode of the lamp. Be careful not to receive an electric shock in
the case of the disassembly repair near the lamp.
Caution : Hot circuit
The lamp of this projector is not insulated from AC line and it is hot.
Be careful not to receive an electric shock in the case of the disassem-
bly repair near the lamp. (Refer to the protections on page-4 along with
this caution.)
Caution : High temperature
The lamp and its neighborhood are high temperature during lamp light-
ing. The hot state continues for the time being, after turning off the
lamp. Be careful not to receive the scald in the case of the disassembly
repair near the lamp. After turning off the lamp and leaving it for at least
45 minutes (Natural cooling), we recommend performing repair of the
lamp or its neighborhood.
Caution : B
URST
When it continues using further the lamp over which the use term
passed, it may cause the burst of the lamp. If it should burst, there is a
possibility that the fragments of glass are scattered on the inside of a
projector. In the case of disassembly repair, replace the lamp after
cleaning, if they are scattered about.
Caution : Mercury gas
Mercury is contained inside the light bulb of the lamp. If the lamp
should burst, open a window and a door and ventilate the room.
Other
Observance :
Obstacle
Don't put an obstacle near the air intake or exhaust vent of the projector
in the case of repair. Air blown from an exhaust vent is hot. If a spray
can and metal tools are placed near an exhaust vent, it is overheated and
dangerous. And, if the air intake or exhaust vent are blocked, the inside
of the projector is overheated and dangerous.
Observance :
Cation label
Comply with all caution and safety-related notes provided on the cabi-
net back, cabinet bottom, inside the cabinet or on the chassis.
Observance : After disassembly repair
When replacing a chassis in the cabinet, always be certain that all the
protective devices are installed properly, such as control knobs, adjust-
ment covers or shields, barriers, etc. Do not operate this projector with-
out the protective shield in position and properly secured. Before
replacing the cabinet cover, thoroughly inspect the inside of the cabinet
to see that no stray parts or tools have been left inside.
