CAUTION:
". The spark plug must be securely tight-
ened. An improperly lightened plug call
become very hot and possibly damage
the engine.
'" Never use a spark plug with an impropt1
heat range.
SPARK PLUGS
Recommended plugs:
Standard:
X24ESR-U (NO)
or
DR8ES-L (NGK)
For cold climate: (Below 5°C, 41°F)
X22ESR-U (NO)
or
DR7ES (NGK)
For extended high speed driving:
X27ESR-U (NO)
or
DR8ES (NGK)
I. Clean any dirt from around the spark
plug base.
2. Disconnect the spark plug caps.
Remove and discard the spark plugs.
3. Make sure the new spark plug gap
(l)
is 0.6-0.7 mm (0.024-0.028 in) using
a wire type feeler gauge. If adjustment is
necessary, bend the side electrode (2)
carefully.
4. With the plug washers attached, thread
the new spark plugs
in
by hand to pre-
vent crossthreading.
5. Tighten the spark plugs 1/2 turn with a
spark
plug wench to compress the
washer.
6. Reinstall the spark plug caps.
