2.6.1 PWR Installation Procedure

The following instructions describe the PWR6300 hardware installation procedure:
1. Mount the PWR in a traffic cabinet or kiosk. The device is not waterproof and should be
reasonably protected from moisture and other exposed outdoor environments.
2. Connect the antenna to the N-type connector.
3. Insert the Power Plug into Power Connector.
4. Verify the transceiver and Ethernet MAC address have been recorded in
will be required to configure and test the device.
5. The Test Port is unused during deployment.

Device Deployment Considerations

When deploying the EWR6300 or the PWR6300 consider the following:
The antenna should be a minimum of 30 inches from any nearby metal poles to avoid
distortion of the RF pattern.
The antenna must have a separation distance of at least 2 meters from the body of all
persons and must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or
transmitter.
Users and installers must be provided with antenna installation and transmitter operating
conditions to satisfy RF exposure compliance.
Typically, the EWR and the PWR are distributed within a network and are used as
subscriber devices. A rule of thumb is to deploy 2-3 hop networks to optimize range, latency,
and throughput to subscriber devices.
It is
required
that the EWR/PWR chassis be grounded to minimize the possibility of ESD
(electrostatic discharge) induced damage.
