8–port switch: Table or desktop mounting: Attach the four self-adhesive pads (included in the accessory kit) to the bottom corners of the switch and place the switch on a secure horizontal surface. Wall or Under-Table Mounting: To mount the 1850-24G, 1850-24G-POE+, 1850-48G, and 1850-48G-POE+ switches, Use a #1 Phillips (cross-head) screwdriver and attach the mounting brackets to the switch with the included 8-mm M4 screws.
Power-on the switch. Follow the same procedures as in step 3. Configure the switch for operation on your network (minimal configuration). Using a standard Ethernet cable, connect a PC directly to the switch. Before you connect the switch to the network, configure the PC’s IP Address and Subnet Mask to allow it to communicate with the switch through your PC’s Web browser.
NOTE: For transceiver connections, install and use only Hewlett Packard Enterprise mini-GBIC/SFP transceivers supported by the switch. See “SFP/SFP+ installation notes” (page Example: Initial Switch Configuration Reconfigure the PC’s IP address and Subnet Mask so that it can communicate with the switch.
SFP/SFP+ installation notes NOTE: To ensure proper operation of your switch, use only the genuine HPE Aruba SFP/SFP+ transceivers supported by your switch. When selecting a fiber SFP device, make sure it can function at a temperature that is not less than the recommended maximum operational temperature of the product.
