System Fans

11.3.1.
Required Equipment
None.
11.3.2.
Test Procedure
At first start-up, the PSU and CPU fans will start at the highest speed. After a couple of seconds, the fans must switch to a slower speed.
Note: When the system has already been running, the fans might start at the lower speed.
11.3.3.
Fail Procedure

Replace the PSU fan. See paragraph 12.13.3.

Replace the CPU fan. See paragraph 12.14.5.

Replace the motherboard. See paragraph 12.15.9.

CPU

Required Equipment
PC Doctor CD & USB dongle
11.4.2.
Test Procedure
In PC Doctor: Run the CPU test.
11.4.3.
Fail Procedure
Replace the CPU. See paragraph 12.15.5.
11.5.
HDD (Hard disk drive)
11.5.1.
Required Equipment
PC Doctor CD & USB dongle
11.5.2.
Test Procedure
In PC Doctor: Run the 'SMART' test.

Fail Procedure
Replace the SATA cable.

Make sure that the latest software image is installed on the replacement HDD. See paragraph 13.

Card Reader
11.6.1.
Required Equipment
PC Doctor CD & USB dongle
Compact Flash (CF) card
Smart Media (SM) card
Secure Digital (SD) card
Memory Stick (MS)
11.6.2.
Test Procedure
1.
Insert the memory cards into the appropriate slots of the card reader.
2.
In PC Doctor: Run the card reader test.
11.6.3.
Fail Procedure
Replace the V-Type cable.

Replace the motherboard. See paragraph 12.15.9.
