Driving systems
Operation of the reversing camera may be
limited on icy, slippery and snow-covered
roads. The vehicle may slip and thereby
leave its calculated route.
Do not use the reversing camera in such sit-
uations. You could otherwise injure other
people during parking or damage objects
and your vehicle.
If you fit other wheels or tyres to your vehi-
cle, this could prevent the reversing camera
from working correctly. Therefore, get infor-
mation in advance from a Mercedes-Benz
Service Centre.
Switching on the reversing camera
Make sure that the ignition is switched
on.
Make sure that the "Automatic in R
gear" setting for the reversing camera
is selected in the instrument cluster
( page 213).
Engage reverse gear.
The area behind the vehicle is shown in
the COMAND display with guide lines
for the most recently selected parking
function.

Risk of accident
Bear in mind that objects that are not touch-
ing the ground may appear further away
than they actually are (e.g. the bumper of a
vehicle parked behind, a trailer towbar or
the rear of a lorry). In this case, you should
not use the guide lines as a measurement of
distance, otherwise there is a risk of acci-
dent.
Nur fuer internen Gebrauch
Therefore, do not approach an obstacle
closer than up to red guide line 1 (0.5 m
guide line), as you could otherwise already
come into contact with the obstacle.
