Entries with icon 4 are from the phone
book on the mobile phone. Entries without
icons or with icons 1 and 2 are only con-
tained in the address book.
Entries with icon 1 have also been as-
signed a voice entry. Voice entries are
available on vehicles with Linguatronic*.
Entries with icon 2 contain destination
data from the navigation system. It is pos-
sible to start route guidance to these types
of entry ( page 174).

To change the smart speller lan-
guage: select
Select the desired country.
To change the smart speller charac-
ter set: select
Depending on the previous setting, you
will change to letters with special char-
acters or to numbers with special char-
acters.
To enter characters: select the char-
acters one by one of the entry you are
searching for.
To delete individual characters: se-
and briefly press n.

Each time you enter or delete a charac-
ter, the closest match will be displayed
at the top of the list.
To delete an entire entry: select
and press and hold n until the entry is
deleted.
To cancel the search: switch from the
smart speller to the list ( page 171).
The entry at the top of the list is auto-
matically highlighted.

Deleting an entry

Search for the desired entry

A deletion prompt appears.
Select "Yes" or "No".
The entry will either be deleted or not,
depending on your selection.

Deleting an entry in the phone book on the
mobile phone deletes the entry in the address
book as well as the one in the phone book on the
mobile phone. This deletion function is not pos-
sible with all mobile phones.
