    Make sure to disconnect all peripheral devices. As the device may still emit radio waves even when you are working offline, do not use the WebDT 375 while on an airplane, unless you are certain that the WLAN adapter has been disabled or removed.

Please refer to the list of recommended accessories below to see some of the devices which will best operate with WebDT 375.

    • The battery shipped with your device should be low in power – please be prepared to use the AC-DC adapter with the WebDT 375 in setting up the device for the first time and to fully charge the internal battery pack.

    1. Click “Start” on the Windows CE Taskbar, select “Settings”, and then click on “Control Panel”. 2. The Control Panel displays several icons associated with utilities for configuring the WebDT 375. Many of these are self-explanatory. Some major ones are discussed below.

    Accessing the Internet with the Internet Explorer 1. When you want to surf the web, click on “Internet Explorer” in the Desktop screen – the WebDT 375 will display the default web site (for example, www.cnn.com). You can change the default web site by using IE browser, View in menu bar, Internet Options.

    - Wireless Network Card and Antenna System The WebDT 375 has a PC Card slot along the upper left edge of the device. This slot is likely to house the wireless LAN adapter. In certain configurations, the slot is left open for the user to insert a supported network adapter. In many instances, the WebDT 375 is delivered with an embedded PC card with a custom antenna in a snap-type housing.
  • Page 20 Low Battery Condition A warning message will be generated during a Low Battery situation and the WebDT 375 will shortly thereafter be placed into (Forced) Suspend mode if operation continues without external supply of power.

    Operation in Windows-Based Terminal (WBT) mode The CE .NET operating system for the WebDT 375 may be presented in one of two categories.     Optional External Battery Pack for WebDT 375 The external battery pack (Figure 1) for the WebDT 375 is intended to add at least 130% to the battery capacity of the internal battery pack. It is hot-swappable in operation and also amenable to one-handed attachment and removal.

    Optional External Battery Charger Kit for WebDT 375 The External Battery Charger Kit is available for use with the optional external battery pack of the WebDT 375. The Kit comprises a battery cradle (Figure 1) and a matching AC-DC adapter and power cord. This AC-DC adapter is similar to the AC-DC adapter shipped with the primary WebDT 325, WebDT 370 and WebDT 375 systems.
  • Page 35 NOTE: The battery cradle has two connector interfaces, one for the WebDT 375 optional battery pack and the other for the WebDT 325 removable battery pack. Each connector interface is designed to mate only with the matching battery pack and will not interfere with or be affected by the operation of the other battery pack.

    Make sure the protective jacket for the WebDT 375 is in place over the device. In this manner, the device will fit snugly within the side arms of the cradle.

  • Page 44 Powering On: Depending on how you received the device, your WebDT 375 device may be in a Suspend state or in a Power Off state. Connect the AC-DC adapter provided with the device directly to the power input jack of the WebDT 375 or to power input jack on the cradle for the device with the WebDT 375 securely seated.

  • Page 48 To avoid this, make sure that you heed the low battery warnings and you supply AC power to the WebDT 375 before it loses battery power completely.

  • Page 50 Can I use a mouse or a keyboard with WebDT 375? Yes. The WebDT 375 offers a USB port on the left side of the display. Simply plug in a USB mouse or keyboard. WebDT 375 recognizes keyboards or pointing devices that register as a standard Human Interface Device. Most track-balls, mice and keyboards work without problems.
  • Page 51 What do all the buttons do? The four buttons at the bottom of the panel have useful functions. When text input into the WebDT 375 is needed, press the left-most button, and a virtual keyboard will appear on the screen. Tap the desired letters to enter text.
  • Page 52 The stylus for the WebDT 375’s touch screen is located in the upper right corner of the panel inside the rubber pad on the side. Pull out the stylus and use it to tap the screen. The WebDT 375 uses a touch screen and stylus for normal input.
