SET-UP

UNPACKING
Remove all the cardboard from around the handlebar.
HANDLEBAR SETUP
1. Loosen the two knobs
[1] on the lower
handlebar enough to
raise the handlebar
into the mowing
position.
2. Tighten the knobs
securely.
3. Disconnect the spark
plug cap.
4. Pull the flywheel lever
back , then pull the
starter grip toward the
starter rope loop.
5. Release the flywheel
brake lever, and then
press the rope into
the loop.
6. Connect the spark plug cap.
ENGINE OIL
The mower is shipped
WITHOUT OIL in the engine.
Add enough SAE 10W-30
API service category SJ or
later oil to bring the oil level
between the upper limit [2]
and lower limit [3] marks on
the dipstick [1] as shown.
Do not overfill the engine
with oil. If the engine is
overfilled, the excess oil may
get transferred to the air
cleaner housing and air filter.

CONTROLS

FUEL VALVE
The fuel valve [1] opens and closes the connection between the fuel
tank and the carburetor.

THROTTLE LEVER
LOOP
The throttle lever [1] controls the following functions:

FLYWHEEL BRAKE LEVER
The flywheel brake lever [1] is

connected to the engine
flywheel brake and the ignition
switch. The engine will not start
unless this lever is pulled
backwards.

DRIVE CLUTCH LEVER
The drive clutch lever [1]
engages and disengages the
transmission that drives the rear
wheels. The drive clutch lever
should only be engaged after the
engine has been started.
ENGLISH
CHOKE For starting a cold engine.
For starting a warm engine and for
FAST
mowing.
SLOW For idling the engine.
