2. Construction
The
grinding
spindle
is mounted axially adjustable
in
a
clamp-
ing block. It is
driven
v
ia endless
belt
by
a 3-phase motor.
The
motor is guarded by a filter against dust
and
dirt and
is
adjust-
able
at the clamping block by means
of
a rocker. The
block
is
slotted
for
mounting on the slide
of
a machine tool.
The
reduced
spindle overhang
guarantees precise surface
finish.
3.
External or internal grinding
For
these modes
of grinding
use different
pulleys
and driving
belts in order
to attain
the highest
possible
peripheral speed
of the grinding wheel.
Moreover,
external grinding
requires
a
wheel
guard. The
extension
spindles
on
pages 2 and
3 are
used
for internal grinding. When replacing grinding
wheel flange
(63)
or
extension spindles,
MT-socket
as well as tapered spindle
should
be
slightly
lubricated.
When
replacing
pulley
or
grinding
wheel
take
care
that
spindle
is not forc ed, in ord er t
o
avoid
damage
to
ball
bearings or
axial

,
which
impair
the surface
finish.
4. Connection
Check
connection
of
socket
and
earthing conductor (voltage
tester) before
connecting
the tool. Run tool
unloade
d
for
a short
time
in
order
to
check the
prescribed
direction of
rotation
and
to avoid loosening
of
the
grinding wheel while
working.
Further,
check the
running
of
the
driving
belt.
The
tension of
the
belt must not be too high
in
order
to
avoid
unnecessary
stress
on or damage to the spindle bearings. For
external
grinding mind
correct
adjustment
of
the
wheel guard.

7.
Dressing the grinding wheel
Usually the
grinder remains
fixed
on the
slide

9. Maintenance and lubrication
1. Motor
Continuous
use
of the motor requires
careful
maintenance.
The
rotor ball bearings are protected
against
dust
and
dirt
and loss
of grease
by
sealing
rings
. The
t ool should
be
cleaned
thoroughly after
approx. 800
duty
hours and
old
grease should
be
removed. Rinse
ball
bearings
and

2.
Spindle
We recommend
to take
spindle

after 500
duty
hours
and to clean all parts thoroughly. Rinse ball
bearings and re-
