Maintenance
Periodic maintenance is essential to the safety, efficiency and lifeti-
me of the boiler. The appliance must be systematically controlled at
regular intervals to make sure it works correctly and efficiently and
conforms to legislative provisions in force.
Maintenance reduces consumption and polluting emissions, and en-
sures the product functions reliably over time.
Before starting maintenance:
- Analyse the combustion products to check the boiler operating sta-
tus, then shut the power off by setting the main system switch to
"OFF".
- Close the heating and domestic hot water system gas and water
cocks.
After performing maintenance as required, the original settings
must be restored and the combustion products must be ana-
lysed again to ensure the boiler is operating correctly.

Adjustments
START AQUA 24 BI boilers are supplied for operation with natural
gas (G20) or LPG (G30/G31) and are factory-set as specified on the
technical data plate. For LPG: the boiler has been regulated in I3B/P
category (G30). If you need to regulate in I3+ or I3P categories (G31)
exclude pressure regulator.
However, if it is necessary to repeat the adjustments, for example
after non-scheduled maintenance, replacing the gas valve or after
conversion from natural gas to LPG, or vice versa, proceed as de-
scribed below.
The minimum and maximum output settings and the minimum
and maximum electric heating settings must be made in the
specified sequence and exclusively by the Technical Assis-
tance Service.
- Turn the main system switch OFF.
- Remove the case after unscrewing the screws.
- Press the side buttons of the panel and then turn it forwards.
- Unscrew the tapping point screw downstream of the gas valve by
approximately two turns and connect a pressure gauge.
Maximum and minimum DHW output setting
- Open a hot water tap to the maximum flow rate.
- On the control panel, set the function selector to
mode and set the DHW temperature selector to the maximum.
- Turn the boiler on by setting the main switch to "ON".
- Check that the pressure reading on the gauge is stable. If the read-
ing is not stable, use a milli-ammeter (in series with a modulator
wire) to check that the maximum available current is delivered to
the modulator (120 mA for G20, and 165 mA for LPG).
- Remove the protection cap from the adjustment screws carefully
using a screwdriver.
- Using a fork wrench CH10, turn the adjustment nut for maximum
output to obtain the value specified in Table 1.

- Disconnect a faston clamp from the modulator.
- Wait for the pressure on the gauge to stabilise at the minimum
value.
- Use a hex wrench – taking care not to press the internal shaft – to
adjust the red screw for the DHW minimum setting and calibrate
until the gauge shows the value specified in Table 2.

Electrical setting of minimum and maximum heating
The "electrical setting" function is activated and deactivated ex-
clusively via the jumper (JP1).
The function can be enabled by:
- Powering up the board with jumper JP1 wired in, and the function
selector set to Winter, regardless of whether other operating re-
quests are active or not.
- Wiring in jumper JP1, with the function selector set to Winter, with-
out any heating requests in progress.
Activating the function involves starting up the burner by simu-
lating a heating request.
To calibrate:
- Turn the boiler off
- Remove the case, press the side buttons of the panel and then
turn it forwards
- Remove the screws on the cover protecting electrical parts (B, fig.
10) and access the board
- Wire in jumper JP1 to enable the dials on the control panel for set-
ting the minimum and maximum heating values
- Ensure that the function selector is set to Winter
- Connect the boiler to the mains
