ond.

Automatic start/stop system
Useful information
The automatic start/stop system automati-
cally switches off the engine when the vehi-
cle stops moving and starts it up again when
pulling away. All vehicle systems except the
air-conditioning system or automatic cli-
mate control continue to operate during
automatic engine switch-off.
Indicator lamps of the automatic start/stop
system
è conditions fulfilled. The engine is

switched off
ç conditions not fulfilled, the stop

inhibitor is active The engine will not stop
automatically.
The engine stops automatically in the fol-
lowing situations:
the automatic start/stop system is
R
switched on
under suitable outside temperatures
R
the engine is at normal operating temper-
R
ature
the temperature in the vehicle interior has
R
reached the set value
the battery is charged
R
the windscreen is not misted up (when the
R
air conditioning is switched on)
the doors and tailgate are closed
R
the driver's seat belt is fastened
R
reverse gear is not engaged
R
The engine starts automatically in the fol-
lowing situations:
the automatic start/stop system is

switched off
the clutch pedal is depressed
R
the brake is depressed
R
the vehicle is rolling
R
the temperature in the vehicle interior dif-
R
fers from the set temperature
the tailgate is opened
R
the windscreen is misted up
R
the battery charge is too low
R
Switching off the engine automatically
Manual transmission

Stop the vehicle.

Select neutral.

Release the clutch pedal.
The engine is switched off. The è indi-
cator lamp lights up in the instrument
cluster.
Automatic transmission

Stop the vehicle in transmission position D
or N, even when shifting manually.
The engine is switched off. The è indi-
cator lamp lights up in the instrument
cluster.
Starting the engine automatically
Manual transmission

Depress the clutch pedal.

Vehicles with manual transmission: only
engage gear when the clutch pedal is
depressed.
Automatic transmission
