The Battery (56) does not come charged from the factory. Charge before using.

Charging Indicator
1.
Insert the Battery (56) into the Charger Base. The Battery can only insert one way.
2.
Plug the Charger Base plug into an electrical outlet.
The Charging Indicator turns red, indicating charging. The Battery will charge for
approximately 1 hour.
The Charger will automatically shut off, and the Charging Indicator turns green,
indicating charging is complete.
3.
Remove the Battery when it is fully charged.
4.
After charging, unplug the Charger Base from the wall outlet.
5.
Insert the Battery into the handle of the Rotary Hammer.
Note: The operation time of a new battery will ramp up as it is properly used (drained) and
recharged. It will take about 5 recharging cycles before the Battery is at maximum effi-
ciency.
Caution: If two or more batteries are to be charged, avoid damaging the Charger by
allowing it to cool down between charges. Wait for the Battery to cool down before
placing in the Rotary Hammer.
Caution: Before inserting the Battery Pack into the tool, be certain that the Trigger
Switch (59) is in the off position.
1.
Push the Forward/Reverse Pole (61) to the center position to lock the Switch in the
Off position.
2.
Insert Battery into the receptacle at the handle-bottom of the Rotary Hammer.
3.
Secure the Lock-spring Clasps to each side of the handle.
