The following information applies to models with a parking brake
lever. If your vehicle is equipped with an electronic parking brake,
see → Electronic parking brake .
Setting the parking brake
Pull the parking brake lever up firmly.
When the ignition is on, the indicator light
the instrument cluster display to show that the parking brake is
engaged → Warning and indicator lights .
Releasing the parking brake
Pull the lever up slightly and press the release button → Fig. 143
(arrow).
