4. Remove the access panel.
5. Remove the installed expansion boards and PCIe riser board. Remove suspect PCIe NIC
card from PCIe riser board connector. Insert replacement NIC card in riser board assembly
and insert riser assembly into mother board socket ensuring connections are aligned.

Thermal (fan) problems

Symptoms
• Server powers up but quickly shuts down.
• Flashing Amber LED indicates a fan failure. See
Server
on page 8.
• Avaya application alarms fan failure.
Note:
For servers with redundant fans, backup fans might spin up periodically to test functionality. This
is part of normal redundant fan operation.
