Symptoms
—
No dial tone when handset is
picked up.
Sound from speaker is too low.
No ringer volume is heard.
Fax/phone call does not connect
to other party.
ICM can not be recorded.
Remote operation is not possible.
Impossible to place phone call.
Telephone does not ring.
Remote reception does not work.
(in series connection)
Remote reception does not work.
(in parallel connection)
Possible Causes/Solution
Telephone line may not be connected properly.
Monitor volume switch may be set to "L".
Ringer volume switch may be set to "OFF".
Wrong dialing mode may be set.
The memory may be full.
Erase ICM that already played.
Recording method may be set to answer only.
Set the recording method to VOX or Fix-30 sec.
The telephone you use may be DP (Dial Pulse) telephone.
Touch-tone telephone (generate DTMF) must be used.
Personal ID number may be wrong.
Enter the correct ID number.
Fax possibly being transmitted or received.
Too many phones may have been connected to the same
line.
Remote reception feature switch (No. 08) may have been
set to off.
If you have initiated the call from the extension phone,
remote reception will not work.
FAX/TEL parallel connection feature switch (No. 57) may
have been set to off.
If you have initiated the call from extension phone, remote
reception will not work.
