    Introduction Introduction The PBXs Gigaset T300 PRO/Gigaset T500 PRO offer extensive options for the operation and configuration of your phones. This user guide describes the administration functions for both devices. Information about operating the PBX can be found in the user guide.

    Initial configuration Initial configuration Your Gigaset T300 PRO / Gigaset T500 PRO PBX is supplied with a web user interface and can be configured using a browser on the computer of your choice. Prerequisite: You have connected your PBX to your local network, as described in the short user guide provided.

The selected type of redirection applies for all phone numbers apart from group phone numbers. The destination of the redirections should already have been defined in the redirection settings.

The dialogue with the question whether and to which device the keys should be transferred, can be switched off in the Window tab for user settings.

    Groups Groups Groups are used to define teams in which anyone is entitled to pick up a call. A prerequisite for the interconnection is that the locations are connected via virtual private networks (Site-to- Site VPN recommended) or static IP addresses with the appropriate firewall configurations.

    Interconnection Rights The settings in the Rights tab are for releasing user and group information from the current location. Released information is available to other locations in the group in the addressbook, as a presence display for function keys and the call manager. Local users can also be members of remote groups, just as remote users can be assigned to local groups.

    Security Security In the security area there are setting options to protect the PBX against hacking attempts by accessing the phone accounts (SIP accounts). These include guidelines for the complexity of access passwords, automatic checking and changing of passwords and a filter system for IP addresses, from which registration requests are sent to the telephone system.

Any intervention to the phone system using macros should always be a last resort and executed by experienced administrators! This editor is used for creating your own extensions or macros for the dial plan.

    Resetting the system Resetting the system Your Gigaset T300 PRO / Gigaset T500 PRO PBX comes supplied with a fully installed, functioning system. Should you experience serious problems during operation that make the system unusable, you can restore functionality using a recovery version. You can obtain a recovery version ready for installation on a USB stick from Gigaset PRO support.
