Product description/function Manual raising and lowering (1) • Calypso is raised by using the hand pump. Pump evenly, using the full range of movement. • Calypso is lowered by pressing the lowering button. Electric raising and lowering (2) Unhook the hand control from its holder.
Back rest (1) • The hand rest/back rest can be pushed backwards. • Only CDB60XX model. The back rest can be used on either side depending on which side the resident will be transferred from. It is detached by pushing at the rim straight out.
Emergency Stop (1) If, for any reason, Calypso does not respond to the control buttons, you can quickly stop lift movement by pressing the button on the battery and disconnect it (1) . Contact your local ArjoHuntleigh representative before re- using Calypso.

Bedpan and bedpan holder (3-4) (optional) A bedpan holder can be mounted under the seat. Assemble according to the illustrations: WARNING Make sure that male resident genitals do not get pinched between bedpan and chair.
Put the hand rest in place in front of the resident (4). Fasten the chest strap. Attach the leg straps if necessary (4). Release the castor brakes and pull Calypso out from the bed while helping the resident with his legs (5). Lower Calypso to a comfortable height so the resident can put his/her feet on the foot rest.
Put Calypso right beside the wheelchair. Lower the seat to the same level as the seat of the chair, so that the seat of Calypso is next to or slightly overlap- ping the seat of the wheelchair, depending on its con- struction.
Calypso is being moved or the brakes are applied. Place Calypso in right angle close to the legs of the bath tub. Raise Calypso to clear the edge of the bath and move the resident in over the WARNING bath.

Care and Preventive Maintenance Calypso is subject to wear and tear, and the following actions must be performed when specified to ensure that the product remains within its original manufacturing specification WARNING The points on this checklist are the minimum the manufacturer recommends. In some cases due to heavy use of the product and exposure to aggressive environ- ment, more frequent inspections should be carried out.
