PREPARATION AND SET-UP
Auxiliary Handles
There are two auxiliary handles supplied with your tool. A side handle which can be
installed in three different positions and a D-shaped handle.
Assembling the Side Handle
1. Remove the rubber grommet on the gear case housing.
2. To attach the side handle, screw the side handle in a
clockwise direction to tighten (Fig. 1).
3. To remove, loosen the handle by rotating an anti-
clockwise direction.
Assembling the D-shaped Handle
The D-shaped handle (8) can be installed by attaching the handle with the bolts
supplied. Either of these handles should be used at all times to maintain complete
control of the tool.
1. Align the recess on the D-shaped handle (8) to the
ridge on the metal gear case (1) (Fig. 2).
2. Slide the D-shaped handle on and insert the bolts in
the securing hole.
3. Use the allen key provided, rotate clockwise to
tighten the bolts.
Spindle Lock Button
WARNING! Turn off the sander polisher at the mains outlet before

attempting to change accessory. Failure to do so may cause serious
personal injury.
In order to prevent the spindle of the tool from rotating while installing or removing
accessories, a spindle lock button (2) has been provided in the gear head of
the machine.
1. To lock the spindle, depress and hold the spindle lock button (2).
Caution: Never depress the spindle lock button while the tool is still running or coasting.
Attaching and Removing Polishing Bonnet
1. To attach the rubber pad, screw the rubber pad onto
the spindle in a clockwise direction (Fig. 3).
2. Depress the spindle lock and tighten the rubber pad
with the spanner provided.
3. Pull woollen bonnet completely over backing pad
and pull draw strings tight.
4. Tie bow knot and push knot and all loose string
completely under the inside, cloth edge of the polishing bonnet.
Caution: Tied knot and all loose strings must be tucked away securely under the
cloth apron. Failure to do so may cause serious personal injury.
5. To remove the pads, first remove the woollen bonnet. Then, depress the spindle
lock button (2) and turn the rubber pad in an anti-clockwise direction to loosen.
