If possible, have the equipment installed by a professional installer. If you should encounter any difficulties, please consult your nearest authorized Panasonic Service Centre. 1. This unit is designed exclusively for use in vehicles having a 12-volt negative ground battery system. -

Cautions Notes: ¡It is natural that the unit becomes warm during prolonged use. ¡The unit may not function properly if installed in a location where it is exposed to high temperature such as in the trunk. Preferably install it in the driver's compartment. Install the main unit on a firm base inside the driver's compartment, such as on the floor or in the con- sole box. -

Precautions We strongly recommend that you wear gloves for installation work to protect yourself from injuries. Installation Procedure - Navigation System Note: Disconnect the cable from the negative (–) battery terminal. • The body shape of some vehicles may interfere with proper signal reception. • Some types of window glass may block signal reception. • If the reception sensitivity is not satisfactory with the antenna installed inside the vehicle, please consult your nearest authorized Panasonic Service Centre. -

Cautions: ¡This product is designed to be used in a car having 12-volt negative ground battery sys- tem. ¡To prevent damage to the unit, be sure to follow the connection diagram below. ¡Do not insert the power connector into the unit until the wiring is completed. ¡Be sure to insulate any exposed wires from a possible short-circuit from the vehicle chassis. - Page 9 Navi Mute lead (5m) NAVI MUTE To NAVI Mute/Telephone Mute (Orange) of audio reciever For use with Panasonic audio systems provided with NAVI Mute function. For details refer to the operating instructions of your audio system. Infrared Receiver (option) This receiver is required to connect a monitor other than Panasonic’s.
