MSC-208A Installation Guide 1. Introduction Congratulation on your purchasing this high performance PCI Express multi-serial host adapter. The adapter is high speed PCI Express bus based and plug-and-play compliant. Jumper Settings JP1- COM Ports Swapping Selector: These jumpers were used to swap Serial Ports S1-S4 and S5-S8. Please keep them at the default factory settings since it may confuse you about the COM Port Numbers.
- Page 3 8S RS232 Multi Serial PCI Express Card At this setting, please do NOT connect the normal octopus cable supplied with this product because the pin#58 was connected to GND in this cable. It will short the power source to GND and may damage your motherboard or power supply.

Remove the chassis cover from your computer Locate an unused PCI Express slot (typically white and smaller) and remove the corresponding slot cover from computer chassis.
