Adjusting the Brightness (Exposure
Compensation)
You can adjust the standard exposure set by the camera in 1/3-stop
increments in the range of –3 to +3.
You can also set the camera so that turning the y ring changes the
compensation amount (p. 121).

Turning the Flash On

You can make the flash fire every time you shoot.
The effective flash range is approximately 50 cm – 7.0 m (1.6 – 23 ft.) at
maximum wide angle (j), and approximately 50 cm – 2.3 m (1.6 – 7.5 ft.) at
maximum telephoto (i).
Enter Exposure Compensation
mode.
Press the o button.
Adjust the brightness.
While watching the screen, turn the 7 dial
to adjust the brightness.
The exposure compensation amount will
appear on the screen.
Choose h.
After pressing the r button, press the qr
buttons or turn the 7 dial to choose h,
then press the m button.
If the flash is lowered, it will automatically
raise.
Once set, h will appear on the screen.
