4.3. SAS Port Expansion Cables
The SAS controller has 2 physical SAS ports which can accommodate an optional host port-expansion cable. Up to 4 of these
cables can be connected to the SAS ports enabling 4 dual-port host connections. Each host-port expansion splits the 4 SAS
lanes per port, so that 2 lanes are connected to each host port.

4.4. RAID Levels Supported
The 3xx4 controller supports RAID 0, 1, 3, 5, 6, 10, 50
In addition to the usual RAID levels, the 3xx4 features several important additional levels. RAID 6 offers the highest
level of RAID protection. It allocates two sets of parity data across drives and allows simultaneous write operations. It
can withstand two simultaneous drive failures without downtime or data loss. RAID 10 is mirroring and striping
without parity and allows large Disk Groups to be created with high performance and mirroring for fault tolerance.
RAID 50 combines the block striping and parity of RAID 5 with the straight block striping of RAID 0, yielding higher
performance than RAID 5 through the addition of RAID 0, particularly during writes.
